I hate people who are constantly late - and I really hate people who don't care when they are constantly late. It's like we're supposed to remember that they're always late. GEez Man, if I went on a kissing spree of my co-workers and acquantances I'd be run out of town so fast...

I'm retired military. People who have chronic LATE disease should be shot.

I'm only ever late if I (consciously or subconsciously) decide that sleep is more important than wherever I'm supposed to be going. But I wouldn't mind if my only penalty for lateness was a couple kisses. As long as the other person didn't have, like, mysterious sores on his/her lips ...

Ok, I admit it. I have been known to run late once in a while. Usually because I rely on the bus for transportation to work, and if I miss the bus, the next one doesn't come for 30 minutes. My boss has a no tollerant policy for being late as well. She is a pain if you call to say you will be late, and an even bigger one if you don't fall. One day I came in late and she was going on and on about the penalties for being late. Exasperated, I finally said, 'what do you want me to do? I am late. I know I am late, I did not mean to be late, I am sorry, but I can't not be late right at this moment since it has already happened.' She was real quiet for a while after that. I think that problem with lateness is partially the people who are late all the time, and partially the people who are so un-ok-with it all the time. I think if we all relaxed slightly, and met somewhere in the middle and were all a little flexible, the world would be a better place.

*grin* Attempted walking on water would be good. Talk about late...*laugh* I used to be a no-lateness martinet. I've relaxed a bit, but no-call, no-excuse lateness chaps my hide. How much effort does it take to call with an explanation? If I can do it, why can't anyone else? (Exceptional circumstances aside.) **!X

I am only not okay with people who are cavelier about lateness. I think its a sign of disrespect. My very best friend is perpetually late and I've seen her in action. She knows she has to be somewhere at 11. She'll just vaguely start to get ready around 10:56, even though there's a 20 minute drive ahead. I love her, but THATS what irks me. When they don't think their arrival time is affecting anyone, and I'm standing around being worried about them, like are they ok, did they get killed in a car crash. What???

I detest tardiness. Mostly because I am always early, then when others are late, I have to wait twice as long. I have learned to show up for my son's taekwondo class right on time because the ALWAYS start about 10 minutes late. I hate that, it takes MY extra time then when it goes over.
