The plague would be too good for him!

Ugh, I'm with Smed. What a creep your landlord is. But you're such a bad ass - no one's ever called the cops on me!!

And here I thought 'White Linen' was the name of a perfume by Estee Lauder and it turns out...(dunt dunt dun!)...it's the name of a crime queen! "Eeeeek! It's White Linen! Somebody call Rayon Man and his sidekick Terrycloth Boy! White Linen must be stopped before she pleads for hedge amnesty again!" God, what a bunch of asshats you have to put up with! Stay safe, sweetie. ~LA

Seriously - what is the point of your landlord if he doesn't do anything about anything? I hate him. And I hate Mr. Freaky Nature Killing Clipper. I'm so sorry you have to deal with these douchebags, witty.

((hugs)) What an idiot. Maybe the guy's a relative or has relatives or something. Either that or your landlord has been hit on the head or something. So sorry you have to deal with this.

This is SO not right!

There can't be much of anything left for him to clip --- maybe he will find another project, something that takes him away from the comples. I would love to see before & after pics too --- if it isn't too painful. I am sure sorry you have had to endure this.

The policemen's tenet is "To protect and serve" and you were neither served nor protected. Your fear of this clipping loony is real because it's real to YOU, and that's all that matters. You were treated shoddily by the police officer, and I would complain (nicely, and probably without the word "fuck") to his supervisor. Your taxes pay his salary, and if you felt threatened, he shouldn't have been so glib. I would take very good notes on what happened and when so that you can support your case. Take pictures of the loony clipping if possible.

Sometimes things don't appear fair because they aren't what they appear to be. The policeman just wanted everyone to shut up and let him get out of there but your landlord and clipper guy are something else. What if landlord and clipper guy know each other or know each other through someone else and he's just trying to give clipper guy a place to live and doing a favor for someone else by doing it? For instance what if this is his daughter's mental-brained son who can't find a job or a place to live because he just got out of jail? So landlord gives him a place and something to do so Clipper guy has an outlet for his mental energies. You opposing his outlet gives clipper guy nothing to do and bounces a favor back onto Landlord that maybe he didn't want to do in the first place. They would both not like you very much for that. I'm just saying that the reactions you are getting aren't appropriate for the situation as you explain it so maybe something else is going on that you aren't aware of. BTW thank you for your story about how you found your cat. It gives me hope.

Maybe you can set him up with some sort of distraction in time to take the clippers away from him somehow without him seeing. find out where he keeps them, that's what I'd do. hire a little kid to get them away from him somehow. maybe they can offer to oil them for him and then turn them over to you? It doesn't sound like he has the means to get new ones and maybe he'll move on to another "project" if he has nothing to clip with. maybe mid clipping one day he'll decide to go to the library and he'll leave them outside??? I don't know, but just reading about this gets me equally upset as you are.

Good Lord! What the fuck is WRONG with people?! This entry makes me wanna fly out there and murder that son of a bitch landlord of yours! What a serious PRICK. Oh honey...(((HUGS)))People keep stepping on you, one after the other and that really pisses me off! It's so frustrating when you're just trying to be nice, you don't want conflict and they don't give a shit. What's even more frustrating is when people just don't understand you. I'm so sorry you've been going through all this trouble. Even your best friend turned her back on you! One of the toughest things to do is to just say "fuck 'em, I don't need 'em", because you do. It really sucks to hate people as a whole but still need social contact. Catch 22 of the century...

I don't know what to say, except the same things that others have said. Is there a branch of the Audubon Society or some sort of gardening club that could take on the greenery as a pet project? Maybe there's an arborists' organization that could get involved? If it's an area that contains wildlife, can't you rat him out as a habitat destroyer? Here's me with everything crossed that this situation gets resolved. :X
