Eh, call him up. What's the worst that could happen, you could gain a good friend? It sounds to me like you'd really like one at this point, regardless of it becoming something romantic. If he ends up sucking as a friend, well then you can chalk it up to all men sucking, cuz well, inevitably, they all do :-)

I'm all for Charlemagne as long as you don't make yourself exclusive with him. Sometimes a little ego stroking will put that bounce in your step and a sparkle in your eye. My best friend has been having a blast on e-harmony.com. I tried it a couple years ago and I just don't think there was the same pool of interested men around here. From her stories, it's a good way to meet professional men who are looking for a relationship.

I think you should call him, too. Just be clear about your boundaries. From what you've written, it sounds like you at least have fun hanging out with him...and who knows. Maybe he dumped the girlfriend. ;)

Yeah, I'm with Loopy and KFK. I'd call him. Then you could change his name in your diary to Charlemagne The Obnoxious NAKED IN MY HOUSE French guy. ;)

If he really is French, Witty, then you mustnt worry about him having a girlfriend. These continentals like a little overlap, saves them going without. She may be on her way anyay and he just wants to get another babelicious scrumptiousness on the hook before he lets her go. Or something. s x

You're right about Woody Allen movies! For a change a pace and happy endings I think you need to rediscover your John Hughes movies. They always leave me upbeat.
